I found this post in Tim Ferris’ blog by guest speaker Benny Lewis. The title is somewhat exaggerated (as most titles in Ferris’ blog are) but it is full of interesting ideas and free web resources on how to study a foreign language.

  1. David, thank you very much for this link. It’s a subject which interests me deeply. I have been following some of the links and I will work it out exhaustively in the next days. There is an amazing amount of information there.
By the way, there is a video on that page of this guy speaking in polish after 1 HOUR!!!! of reading a conversation book!!!! I am absolutely impressed. Pronunciation is correct and somehow you can understand what he wants to say.

  2. Yes. I always had the feeling that guys like Lewis or Ferris are actually good at learning languages, and have a strong like steel determination and discipline, and that explains part of the success of their methodology, but I also think that people with less ability and determination can also improve their ability with foreign languages using their methods.
Let us know what you find out! I’ll be checking those links. I’m also very interested in understanding the learning process and put it into better uses.
